The AH-64A Apache is the US Army's primary attack helicopter. Its rapid response capabilities and onboard weapons systems enable deep strikes and delay of enemy forces. The Apache can be deployed globally, operating at night and day, and in adverse weather conditions. Its primary weapons are a nose-mounted 30mm M230 chain gun, Hellfire anti-tank missiles under its stub wings, and 70mm Hydra rockets. It can engage enemy armored vehicles or key targets. The Apache is equipped with comprehensive emergency survivability equipment, capable of withstanding multiple hits of 23mm rounds in critical areas. The AH-64 is transportable by C-5, C-141, and C-17 transport aircraft.

The AH-64A Apache has a tandem two-seat cockpit, with the pilot in the back and the co-pilot and weapons operator (CPG) in the front.
