The Eurocopter SA 365/AS 365 Dauphin 2 is a medium-weight multipurpose twin-engine helicopter originally manufactured byAerospatiale, later byEurocopter(nowAirbus Helicopters). Several major variations of the Dauphin have been developed and entered production, including the military-orientedEurocopter Panther, theHH/MH-65 Dolphin, the Chinese-producedHarbin Z-9and the improvedEurocopter EC155.
The Harbin Z-9 is alicense-builtversion of theFrenchEurocopter AS 365 Dauphin, and is manufactured byHarbin Aircraft Manufacturing Corporation.Z-9WA is the newer night-capable versions have been built with nose-mountedFLIR. Incorporates a domestic Chinesehelmet mounted sightthat is compatible withanti-tank missilessuch asHJ-8/9/10, as well as lightanti-ship missilessuch asC-701/703andTL-1/10.
