Description
The Tamiya Lockheed P-38 J Lightning 1/48 Model Airplane Kit has been designed to bring yet another legendary aircraft to the Tamiya 1/48 scale model lineup. The full-sized Lockheed P-38 Lightning made its first flight in January of 1939 with the P-38 J variant taking flight in 1943. The J version featured streamlined engine nacelles that fitted the turbo-supercharger intercooler system as well as the oil cooler for increased protection during combat. Powered by two Allison V-1710-81 or V1710-91, each producing over 1400hp, this plane was capable of speeds over 400mph and had a combat range of 1300 miles. Tamiya has brought extreme attention to detail in this 1/48 scale P-38 J Lighting model.
