The Mercedes-Benz W 196 R, designed for the 1954 season, met all the requirements of the new Grand Prix formula issued by the sports governing body, the CSI (International Sports Commission): a capacity of 750cc with or 2500cc without supercharger, free choice of gas mixture, a racing distance of 300 kilometers or a minimum of three hours. This «silver arrow », a masterpiece built in 14 units.
This model has been handcrafted and finished in our workshops with the utmost care. The use of an extremely accurate digital scan of the original car has enabled us to recreate every detail of the original model as closely as possible.
