ICM 1/35 Monty's Office Caravan Plastic Model Kit ICM35603

When General Montgomery was commander of the 8th British Army in North Africa, he was given a specially designed staff vehicle. This original vehicle was based on the standard British army vehicle Leyland Retriever. A non-standard structure was installed on the basic chassis, which was a mobile field office, the interior of which was divided into two rooms. The front small room was equipped with a bathroom, while the large room had wardrobes for things and clothes, a desk with table lamps and a large sofa.

Montgomery had two more special trucks at his disposal, one of which was converted into a mobile sleeping room and the other was used for large staff maps and for meetings. All three vehicles are also known as €˜Monty's Caravan. They were used by General (and from 1944 Field Marshal) Montgomery until the very end of the war.
