Description
The British Army, which suffered heavy losses in the Dieppe landing operation, recognized the need for special vehicles to overcome various obstacles during landing operations. Therefore, Rear Admiral Percy Hobart became the person in charge, and various special vehicles were developed. These were called "Hobart's Funnies," and they attracted a lot of attention for their performance in the invasion of Normandy. Many of the vehicles in Hobart's Funnies were based on Churchill infantry tanks and Sherman tanks. The Centaur Dozer is equipped with a hydraulic dozer by removing the Centaur turret for use in situations where armor protection is required when removing obstacles. This Dozer and the CS were the only Centaur tanks used in combat.
