HMS Ithuriel 1942 British I-class destroyer - IBG 70012
The HMS Ithuriel was originally intended for the Turkish Navy in 1939, but the British Royal Navy procured her while the ship was still under construction. Her service began in December of 1940 and took part in "Operation Harpoon" and "Operation Pedestal" ushering convoys to Malta in the summer of 1942. In November of 1942, the Ithuriel was attacked by a German aircraft and suffered critical and irreparable damage.
